When I was a kid I used to dream a lot about my career and more about my one, who will be that “Perfect One”. Yeah, dream about my Perfect One. I think this is not only my case, most of us dream about him/her. (Well 99%, at one or the other point of life). And as we grow up we start searching for this unknown being, who we believe is on this earth, and is playing hide and seek with us. In this journey of growing up we meet that one, some meet him/her early, some take lifetime and some can’t even count.
Let me define this 'Perfect One' first :- it’s a combination of an adjective and pronoun which means a super human/, who tops the charts of being the best human on earth, and practically doesn't exists but still we waste most of the time and energy to find out this creature (because we are human and we do such things).
We build up so many expectations like- my one will have a body like Salman Khan’s; she will have lips like Angelina Jolie’s, lover like Jack Dawson, texture like Geisha, and it goes on and on. Every day we raise the standards, by watching all the senseless net flicks on infinite number of sitcoms, looking at some successful duo around us and the ultimate Yash Raj’s or Dharma’s or Rajshri’s Raj, Rahul or Prem, respectively. (Jo naam toh bahut logo ne rakh bhi liye hai). We travel so far in our mind with these unreal notions that, we start living in a virtual world and expect the other half also become part of this.
Well, I also had an utopia. In fairy tale world of mine where my guy was nothing less than Jack Dawson, George Clooney, Raj and it goes on. And I decided I will never compromise anywhere, or one day I will meet him. I fell head over heels and never realized it when my world actually became a fairytale. But one day, when I sat down thought what I wanted, I realized that I got nothing like what I dreamt of. He was nothing like a Dawson, Clooney, Kapoor or Ambani. He was just a simple guy who loved me for who I am. And that was the time, I experienced “Sach Ka Saman”.
Being with him I actually realized that the “perfect One” is a subjective term and its dictionary meaning sucks. Perfect one is not the one who like Raj travels thousands of kilometers to get Simran but, he could be the one who takes you out for a nice walk. She might not be like Deepika Padukone but her presence, love, laughter and care just can’t be compared with the beauty of any star.
So, next time when you make such list of your “Perfect one”, try not to make such worthless list of him/her. Never sideline the basic qualities trust, Love, Respect and Compatibility that make any person the Right One. Don’t bound yourself with the superficial need, instead, try to find beauty and joy in the small things. Might be you never know that the right one of your life is sitting just next to you and waiting for you to look up from this tally.
Kyunki “Bandey perfect nahi hotey, Ristey perfect hotey’.
(because “Its not the person who is perfect, it’s the relationship).
